Thank you all for your fast and very helpfull replies - I wish I could get my
money back from Checkpoint and share it with you :-)
The idea was actually to wipe clean the previous configuration (which -
in theory - shouldn't have existed anyway!!) by removing two files - as
suggested by all of you - which I did and seems to be getting where it
was supposed to.
Just some additional info for those of you who might be making the same
mistake I made (purchasing hardware support from Checkpoint): the
"products" are called:
- SS-CPVA-A440 (for a software subscription whcih nobody at Checkpoint can tell
me what it is - I am just assuming that software subscription would mean free
upgrades of the OS of the box ... but Chekcpoint support had no clue on what
that means)
- GS-CPVA-A440 (this is the so called "gold" support from Checkpoint, which
should have given me the option of getting an answer to the request which you
all - eventually - helped me with)
Oh - well - they say that : "it pays to discover" - I - as one - learned my lesson.
Thanks again to all,
Stef
P.S. I will probably be coming back with more questions, as I move along ... haven't
done this since ver. 3.0 of FW-1 ;-(
