[FW1] fw_copy: failed to open - (Solaris, 4.1/SP1)

problems with a new Solaris install of Checkpoint2000 (4.1/SP1)

distributed  config (one EMC and 2 fw modules):

4.1 w/ SP2 EMC (aix)
fw module: (aix, 4.1/SP2)
fw module: (solaris, 4.1/SP1)

keys:

/etc/hosts(all)
$FWDIR/control.map (all)
$FWDIR/conf/clients (emc)
$FWDIR/conf/masters(fw modules)
putkeys on EMC and fw modules completed.


when trying to install policy on AIX fw module,  no errors.   This works
fine.

However, when trying to install on the Solaris fw module, the following
errors appear:

gz_file_compress: fopen failed for /etc/fw/tmp/mypolicy.lg: No such file or
directory
Failed to Download Security Policy on <hostname>: No such file or directory
Installing Security Policy on <hostname> failed
fw_copy: failed to open /etc/fw/tmp/mypolicy.lg No such file or directory
fw_rename : failed to move /etc/fw/tmp/mypolicy.lg to
/etc/fw/state/mypolicy.lg: No such file or directory
fw_copy: failed to open /etc/fw/tmp/mypolicy.fc: No such file or directory
fw_rename : failed to move /etc/fw/tmp/mypolicy.fc to
/etc/fw/state/mypolicy.fc: No such file or directory
fw_copy: failed to open /etc/fw/tmp/mypolicy.ft: No such file or directory
fw_rename : failed to move /etc/fw/tmp/mypolicy.ft to
/etc/fw/state/mypolicy.ft: No such file or directory
fw_copy: failed to open /etc/fw/tmp/mypolicy.ctlver: No such file or
directory
fw_rename : failed to move /etc/fw/tmp/mypolicy.ctlver to
/etc/fw/state/mypolicy.ctlver: No such file or directory

am i missing something?  any assistance appreciated.
