For Solaris and NT, Checkpoint has release a CVP-Manager which will do load
sharing. Stonesoft has released his Full-Cluster Firewall solution for Trend
Micro Interscan Viruswall which does load balancing. Concerning your need
for performance, I have heard that CVP can't perform in heavy load (can
someone confirm this?) so I would run VirsuWall in native mode (proxy mode).
Just some thoughts

Subject: [FW1] Load Balancing across CVP servers?
Hello all,
I am looking into setting up virus scanning for HTTP and FTP traffic
using the CVP compliant software from Trend Micro; VirusWall. Does anyone
know of a way do load balance this traffic across a number of CVP servers?
Not only for redundancy but for performance? We pass about 8 million
requests every day from our proxy system to the Internet, and I would
hesitate to put that kind of load on one box. Any ideas? Never having
setup a CVP server before, could you put a rule in the policy which sends
the traffic to a group of CVP servers? Would FireWall-1 sequentially send
the requests to the each CVP in the group? What if one of these boxes was
down? Is this even possible? =) Thanks in advance...
Thanks,
Abe
