Way off topic I know (sorry)
I have a duplicate IP address I'm trying to chase to a user/machine - so
that I can break some fingers ...
I am switched to the desktop and I can find the port directly from the MAC
table (using the MAC address in the NT event log) then simply pull the cable
and trace through the structured cabling to find the user.
I recall from way-back-when that the prefix of the MAC address is
manufacturer specific. Does anyone know of a comprehensive list of all
manufacturers so that I also know what sort of machine I'm looking for.
I'm looking for this so that I know generic brand of card - since all my
servers, workstations and portables have different make cards fitted
Cheers
Tim
