Mark,
Don't know about the best solution, but for the
Windows platform, SR will work just fine. I don't
think there's a version out for Linux or Solaris(I
don't know is anyone has gotten SR to work in
vmware or even if it's possible.)
You can setup ssh on all of these platforms, which
would work out quite well.
