Let me guess....you aren't using a "business" account with a guaranteed static IP
address.
Here is how it works, you configure for DHCP and get a lease.
Then you take that IP address and punch it in as a static, reboot, cut a new license
key
for Checkpoint, and you are good for a couple days....
Then your lease expires, and someone else is leased your current address and the
process repeats.
The solution is to get a true static IP address. However, I have seen some peculiar
activity
even with a static when using DOCSIS and "baseline privacy". It seems that the ARP
entry on
the router for my static gets considerably aged and the only way to renew connectivity
is to
reset the DOCSIS modem which performs bootp to get a new management IP address
and it's bootfile which has a bunch of SNMP mibs entries set...otherwise, you have to
telnet
into the UBR router and clear the old ARP entry (but that is hard unless you have
friends at
the cable co..heh)
Checkpoint doesn't like to cut new license keys, wonder how you are managing this. 8)
