Use a Hub vs Switch. Probably have better luck with VRRP.

Subject: [FW1] VRRP Failover Question
We want to use VRRP for failover only. We have one NAP connection.
My first thought is that we will need to put a switch in between
the NAP and the firewalls. My concern is the single point of failure
now faced on the switch. We have a fully redundant Cisco 6506 behind
the firewall. I really don't feel good about slapping a blade in it
to take the place of this external switch. So, I have several
questions:
1) Are my inclinations correct on the security issues with putting
internal switch on the outside?
2) What are cheap redundant switch solutions out there?
3) What are other people doing out there to handle VRRP failover?
Keep in mind that I do not care about load balancing.
Thanks!
