Any chance you have the NT performance monitor service (datalog.exe)
running at the time of the upgrade? I had this problem with a 4.0 to 4.1
upgrade, not with a service pack install, but it's worth checking.

When I run the SP2 patch everything seems to go well but at the end an
error
box pops up.
