This is the new feature in SP3 that allows for a software based LUNA VPN
driver to be enabled, and encryption calculations to be offloaded to an
additional processor.. In other words multi-threaded support for VPNS, and
LUNA based encryption offload without hardware. Bitchin! Havent looked to
see if this is on the price list, or if its free (yeah right) I will try to
remember to check tomorrow, and follow up this post. This week is a good
time for things like this. I suspect this is one of the features that they
were considering holding back for 5.0, although I have nothing to back that.
It will be real interesing to see the performance numbers VS the Chrysalis,
VS the Broadcom hardware based LUNA.. It will also be interesting to see the
multi-cpu machines (sparc, Intel, RISC etc.) duke it out on the performance
tests. Since the new Broadcom card is about US $1000.00 Im not sure I see
the point yet...

Can anyone tell me what VPNx is? I can't find documentation on CheckPoint's
site about it, but it is listed as a free public download as a new product.
