The main issue with memory upgrades and your Nokia Security Appliance is the
designation in the product line between 'field upgradeable' and 'factory
upgradeable'.
The breakdown being IP440s and IP650s can be upgraded in the field, by the
end user, with out voiding the appliance's warranty.
With an IP330, the appliance is designated 'factory upgradeable' meaning you
must either send the unit back to Nokia for the upgrade or contract the
services of an authorized Nokia Service Provider. If you were to
'break-the-seal', your warranty for the appliance would be voided.
In your case, I would suggest that you find a Nokia Service Provider in your
area that can dispatch a technician to perform the upgrade on-site.
As far as the VPN accelerator cards, they are a great option for
accelerating IKE-based VPN connections, but they are not available on the
IP300 platform.

Have you looked at the LUNA accellerator cards ?
These are a little unreliable (ie they die frequently) but they do the
encryption/decryption in hardware thereby reducing the load on your
firewall.
I'm not a Nokia person but why can't you just open the box to see if it uses
standard RAM (try to get the part number) then just buy it from elsewhere ?

Currently, I have a site with 2 Nokia IP330's with the factory default
of 64MB of ram. My nokia dealer says there is no memory upgrade
available, only a factory upgrade. i would love to add memory as my
VPN's are running slow. whats the truth of this?
