169.254.x.x/16 is a range of ip addresses that are automatically assigned to clients that are configured to get their addresses from DHCP but for some reason are unable to do so. These addresses are assigned to maintain connectivity within the local segment in case of DHCP server failure. Check to see if your DHCP is functioning properly, and whether it's address scope is not exhausted.
