The best way, to minimize downtime, is to copy the HDD, stick it in a new
machine, and upgrade that to 4.1.
Upgrading from v3.0 to 4.1 is fine - make sure you chose 'backward
compatibility' during the install, so your rulebase and objects are
converted.

Subject: [FW1] Installing New Version

Can you tell me the way to install CheckPoint Firewall-1
2000 (4.1) on a new platform but keeping back rules,
objects and properties running today on another host with
firewall 3.0b ?

Thanks in advance for your help.
