Has anyone else seen this?
Running SR 4.1 SP-3 3DES (Build 4176 Feb 27 2001) on Windows 2000
professional SR1 with all patches available from WindowsUpdate.microsoft.com
as of 3/15/2001.
Compaq Armada E500
This unit is used in an ethernet docking base at the office, and 'undocked'
at home. The Armada also has a built in 10/100 Ethernet adapter.
Scenario: With SR bound to the built-in ethernet, but nothing plugged into
that ethernet, when I dock & boot up at the office, upon login attempt, I
get a message box:
"The system can not log you on due to the following error: The handle is
invalid
Please try again or consult your system administrator"
If the build-in ethernet has a link, this problem does not occur.
As a work around, I disable the binding of SR to the built-in nic until I go
home and want to connect in via SR, then I enable the binding. When I am
done working, before I shutdown, I disable the binding of SR to the built-in
nic.
