rename product.conf to inst.conf on Unix platform and then run 'cpconfig'
again. NT you need to hack the registry.

Hi John

1) You must remove $FWDIR/conf/product.conf file (I recomend to rename like
product.conf.old) and then create, if necessary $FWDIR/conf/inst.conf.

2) The inst.conf file must be like that . . .

FireWall=1
FloodGate=1

3) run cpconfig -install

That's it . . .

Our current firewall was setup as a standalone server but now we want to
migrate it into a distributed setup so the log files will be sent to the
Mgmt server. Instead of building a new machine is possible to uninstall and
reinstall, choosing the distributed setup without losing all the rules,
objects, and users? If so, is there a certain set of instructions to follow
or do we just do a basic uninstall -reinstall?

I have been told previously that all I would need to do would be to move
the
\FWDIR%\conf\product.conf to inst.conf. The only problem with that is we
did
not even have the product.conf.

Any help would be most appreciated.

John
