Thanks Simon,
The problem is that I could not uninstall SP4. I believe it is because it
was not installed completely.

Subject: RE: [FW1] SP4 Installation
Hi,
I had the same problem running checkpoint on NT4 SP6a installation of SP2
and SP3 on Checkpoint with SP1. The objects files and I think all the
configuration files ended up in the backup directory and not in the current
directory. I then could not run the policy editor.
I called our supplier and they came in to do the service pack upgrade.
I had a log consolidator running and just following the install instructions
did not stop the services (because of the NT dependences (log consolidator
program stopped the firewall service from stopping)).
To resolve the problem our supplier did the following:
Manually stop the firewall service "fw stop" then press "y" to also stop the
log consolidator (something the installation was unable to do).
Uninstall SP3
Manually stop the firewall service
Uninstall SP2
Check the policy Editor was working and firewall was still functional
(install rules etc).
Manually stop the firewall service
Install SP2
Start policy editor and install firewall rules.
Manually stop the firewall service
Install SP3
Start policy editor and install firewall rules.
Manually stop the firewall service
Install SP4
Start policy editor and install firewall rules.
I have missed out the reboots we did. We rebooted every time told to do so.
The Firewall is now working as it should.
Hope this helps.
Simon

Subject: [FW1] SP4 Installation
Importance: High
Hi all,
I failed in installing SP4 on my Firewall machine IBM Netfinity 4000R
running Winnt4 SP6a.
I'm using Checkpoint 4.1 and it gave me error message -132 (I totally forgot
to write it down the complete message) during the installation.
Right now my firewall is still running but I'm afraid it will no longer run
when I restart the machine, well, I'm not sure.
I can't open the Policies editor and other CP Management Programs.
Pls help
TIA,
Sugih
