The Nokia CC500 box is a great little VPN box. The only downside is
the lack of features and a really horrible admin GUI written in Java.

Without breaking my NDA with Nokia I can tell you that their CC-series
will be developed into a great vpn platform.

Subject: RE: [FW1] Black box or normal machine

We have the need for VPN access from clients. Originally we planned to use
SecuRemote to our existing Checkpoint Firewall-1. We have separate
Management and Firewall machines and even using IKE encryption we have to by
two encryption licenses which are not cheap. This only gives us DES. If we
want triple DES we have to upgrade the Firewall-1 binaries. However Nokia's
CC500 offers a similar solution for a tenth of the price of the additional
checkpoint encryption licenses. I cannot think of an argument not to but
this box and simply put it infront of our Firewall-1 to handle the VPN side.

Is checkpoint Firewall-1 massively over priced or am I missing something?
