That's not correct.
From the 4.1 SP4 release notes:
"VPN-1/FireWall-1 Version 4.1 SP4 supports Solaris 8 only on standalone
non-VPN deployments. Solaris 8 is not supported for distributed deployments
(Management Server and Module on separate systems) or for VPN use (site-to-
site or SecuRemote/SecureClient). Support for these configurations will be
added as soon as possible. An update to SP4 may be issued in order to remove
these restrictions."
