My guess is that the firewall is not starting up at boot time. Go into
Voyager->Config->CheckPoint Firewall-1 and click the radio button about
Start Firewall-1 at boot time (or something to that effect).

Subject: [FW1] Nokia IP330

I'm getting no luck with Checkpoing lately. Seems I must be doing
something wrong. I working on a IP330 and everything seems to be fine,
but when I first turn it on and telnet into it. I run "fw stat" and it
gives me the error:

Unable to open '/dev/fw0' : Operation not supported by device
Failed to get interface list: Operation not supported by device

I cannot connect to the policy. If I run "fwstart", everything is fine
so my guess would be that the firewall-1 service isn't starting on
bootup. I checked the /var/messages file and it says it started fine.

I just sent an email to the list last week with a similar error running
win2k. If anybody has any ideas, I'd appreciate it. IPSO 3.3 Firewall
4.1 sp2 (i'm going to upgrade to SP3 and see if that helps.).

Thanks,

Aeon
