An excellent point. Nokia has some handy FW management tools that
Compaq lacks. However, I don't know if they necessarily justify the
cost differential. The Horizon Manager you mention costs an extra $20k
plus a Sun workstation to manage 100 firewalls. Add that to the $170k
premium for the hardware and you've spent almost $200k. For that kind
of money, I could hire another full-time firewall administrator to cover
for me while I play golf. ;-)

themselves. In addition to Voyager web-based mgmt,
Nokia has Horizon Manager which greatly eases the
deployment & software management of multiple firewalls
in the case of your 100 firewall example). It is
especially nice for those in firewall support that
enjoy their nights and weekends off.
