We are using Gateway to Gateway running 4.0 SP5 with Hotfix.
I want to compress the packet before it gets encapsulated due to the fact
that once the packet gets encapsulated
the compression algorithm becomes inefficient due to the randomness when
encrypted.

What kind of VPN are you doing?
Client to gateway or gateway to gateway?
What Checkpoint version are you using? What module do you have
activated?
