First you need to define more about the MS product. Windows 2000 Advanced
Server does NOT come with ANY firewall software. It does come with VPN
software. There is a product available from MS being marketed as a
firewall. "Internet Security Accelerator". ISA is relatively new. I've
installed it once. My OPINION is that it is a decent firewall for a small
company that doesn't have anything of value that would attract dedicated
attempts by hackers. It will probably stop most script kiddies.

The VPN - I doubt that you would be able to setup a site-site VPN with
Checkpoint and MS VPN. I have heard success by a few people in getting a MS
VPN client workstation (ie single user) to connect to Checkpoint.

Subject: [FW1] VPN-1 to MS Windows 2000 VPN firewall. Anyone tried this?

Greetings,
We have one company site with Checkpoint VPN-1 that we want to
connect through a VPN to another company. The second company wants to
use the Firewall/VPN software that comes with Windows 2000 Advanced
Server.
I haven't been able to find out much about this Microsoft Firewall.
How does it compare with VPN-1 (asking an unbiased group, I'm sure ;-)
? Is it really a firewall, or a cheapy?
Has anyone configured a VPN using the Windows 2000 product to
VPN-1? If you could give me your experiences, it would really help out.

TIA,
John Schneider
