I spoke with Nabble, and they have just configured their system to make our
new mail lists browseable and searchable. Nabble also uses Lucene for
searching.

Most interestingly, they also provided an example of how these forums
could be "skinned",
including integration with our framework.zend.com website .. very nice.
The say only very minimal HTML experience is needed to "skin" these pages.
Any volunteers?
Cheers,
Gavin

Thanks. I just added all new lists from your site. Please take a look:
you can also edit the name and description by yourself to make those
fields more useful to your users.
By the way, I wonder if you know about this "skin" feature of Nabble.
Take a look at this example:
http://www.nabble.com/eGroupWare-f3741.html - the forum is hosted on
Nabble, but skinned to feel like a part of the home site.
Note that it is not just the front page getting customized. It is all
pages in your forum, for instance, the thread view page, the search
result page, the user account and sign-up page, the compose and reply
page... With only one skin template, all your forum pages get
customized to match your website.
You can do this with only basic HTML skills. The help article is here:

Thanks again!
Regards,
Will

Oh thanks Will!
Here is a nice table with handy links for the mail lists:

Don't use the fw-all list please.

Gavin
