Instead of duplicating 2 of the existing 3 links under the "Quick Links" 
caption,
I would suggest that the links do not look like links, which makes the 3
easy, simple download links less obvious to the reader.
The buttons resulted in people downloading the wrong versions, and then 
posting
JIRA issues or messages to this list with incorrect assumptions.

The current, simple textual links force people to read an extremely simple
explanation and then choose one.

The buttons are not gone, just moved. On the download page:

At top right there is a link, "Users: download the stable release":

http://framework.zend.com/download/stable

Probably we could make better use of the blank space in the blue header
on the download page (http://framework.zend.com/download) to indicate
the changes and better direct visitors. Thoughts?
