Hi Your problem lies in layout.phtml (application/layout/scripts) and there on line 4: <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=iso-8859-1" />
The charset you have there does not work so well with mixed characters. My advice is, use UTF-8 instead: <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=UTF-8" > If you are going to use a database, also use UTF-8 in there and you should be fine all through the application.
