I and a colleague wrote a library that implements a query builder for SphinxQL. It extends Zend\Db\Sql, provides service factories for Zend\Db\Adapter and includes some other useful components.
Currently we have released a stable and tested version (0.5.1) that you can find here: https://github.com/ripaclub/sphinxsearch We’ve tried to document as much as possible many of the features that the library includes, which would also explain why the implementation choices we’ve made. At the time we were planning to continue the development by adding more specific methods (eg, SHOW META and CALL SNIPPET), but before continuing we'd love to receive feedback regarding the current implementation and ideas for adding new features.
