Then we come back to the usal argument SPA vs port knocking. Ubuntu package: -------------- An important part of the paper is about an Ubuntu package for fwknop. Then, I have to say I am quite disappointed to hear they have done such work without me being able to know about it. On my side, I think I have done what was required to inform people a package was in progress. I only hope people have not spend their(our) free time for nothing. Ease of use ------------ From a Debian point of view, I think fwknop is quite easy to set up the first time, allowing people to play with it and check if they really want to install it and continue with GPG authentication. In a general way, fwknop is simple to setup and easy to use. However a wrapper for ssh would be really nice :) I have not tried ssh-fwknop yet. Are you in touch with the authors ?
