Possible. OK, I'll then say "it's not part of the ANSI C standard" as 
that phrase is usually understood (e.g. that which is documented in 
K&R's _The C Programming Language_, 2nd edition).

There aren't a whole lot of compilers implementing C99 (or whatever 
it's called) yet.
