at apple.com/support you can create an AppleID (if you don't already 
have one) then go to register.apple.com to register that PowerBook's 
serial number to your name.... then, at 
<http://www.apple.com/support/> again.... under where it says 
"Applecare, Hello <your name>" there are two links.... the "My Info" 
link will show the warranty status of all machines registered to you.
