The fan on the Pismo comes on as needed, and it took a humid 95 
degree day here to trigger it.  It doesn't come on now that I've got 
the "cool pad", either.  I guess you should just trust that it will 
be there if needed.  You are right that it would be nice to have a 
way to *test* it.
