It's not that bad. Win2k on a TiBook 550 is very usable.

Here's a recommendation for the more technically inclined - at
www.98lite.net, they have an app that will allow you to remove IE from
Windows 98. It keeps everything required to render HTML, just gets rid of
the browser. You know, the browser that MS says can't be removed?

Yyyyyeeeaaaahhhhhh....that one.

This helps speed 98 up a bit. You might want to install Netscape first,
before removing IE.

For even more speed, and if you have a Win95 install CD handy, you can
download another app from them that will allow you to substitute the slower
Win98 explorer shell for the Win95 explorer shell.

There is a noticeable speed bump.

Of course, YMMV.
