Having observed the conversation about system file backups, I was
wondering if I could boot from my install CD, access my 7500 as a
server, and then run TechTool Pro on the 7500 to defragment my iBooks
hard drive with no ill effects.

I tried to make a boot CD to accomplish the same thing. However,
despite the computer recognizing it as having a valid system file I
cannot get the iBook to boot from it. And I don't actually own a CD
burner so it was not easy to try again.
