Call Apple and complain loudly.  They'll probably offer to send you a new AC
adapter package - they did that for me, and my PowerBook was second-hand and
out-of-warranty.  If you kindly explain to them that without an AC adapter
your fine Apple PowerBook is pretty much useless, they usually agree and
send you a new one.  (Adapter, not PowerBook.  I wish.)  The new adapter I
have is different from the old one - the plugs on the adapter are conical
instead of rounded, and the AC cable is about 3 times longer, light grey,
and has lots of stress relief at the plugs, especially where it enters the
AC adapter.  If you have an old AC cable, the dark grey-blue one, try to get
the new revision power cable - it works a lot better.
