I have a Pismo and my compact flash card mounts perfectly. You must be running at least OSX version 10.1 or later. In versions 10.0.4 and earlier, it wouldn't mount. The driver for mounting is built into the OS.
I don't know about the DVD, or other specialty cards in your Wallstreet, but I would think your SmartMedia should mount if you are running 10.1.3 or later. Perhaps someone with a Wallstreet and a SmartMedia card could shed some light.
