This is a firmware related issue on the Lombard (especially the 333 
which I own)  - it is not a fixable thing (without replacing the 
motherboard with a newer revision.)

My story -

* I purchased a half-height 256Mb upgrade from OWC
* It didn't work
* Swapped it with them
* Still didn't work
* Did some serious research, found out about this problem in he 
"early days" of the Lombard
* Told them
* Bought a full height instead
* They weren't interested in refunding the price difference between a 
full / half height unit (which was a fair bit at the time) - bastards!

Don't forget the Lombard can only take a "half height" unit in the 
lower memory slot.

If I find the Apple article I'll post the link...
