Sorry that this is a bit 'after the fact' - but I would like to eulogise about a product introduced to me by a puppet maker - Zip Kicker is a superglue catalyst. It's available under different brands but that's the one I know. You can get the same result as epoxy in seconds! Spot of glue in the head, drip of catalyst on the driver, bring them together and an exothermic 3 seconds pause gives a solid fusion. You get multiple chances with fresh applications.
