Hi,

QT 5 Pro are unable to edit muxed MPEGs. I presume muxed MPEGs to 
mean those which audio and video tracks cannot be separated. Go to 
Movie Properties (Command + J) to see what kind of audio/video format 
the file has.

Perhaps a copyright issue is at stake. You might want to see if QT 4 
Pro will do the job, if you haven't done so already.
