If the external keyboard works OK, does it not seem very likely that 
the problem IS the internal keyboard? (Yes, I know it could be in the 
connection to the motherboard; but then wouldn't both internal 
keyboards have the exact same problem?)

I had a very similar keyboard problem with a used Lombard that I 
bought two months ago. The seller sent me a replacement keyboard 
which worked except for the Command key. Then he sent me a third 
keyboard which worked.
