You need to get a OS 9 disk and upgrade to at least 9.1 for OSX 10.2 to work with it. It's a real pain that Jaguar did NOT ship with OS9; but IIRC Apple had an inexpensive program (their famous $19.99 S&H) to get OS9 if you bought Jaguar. All said and done, however, the installer is installing things for Classic, so if you don't use Classic apps, you won't need to install the drivers, as I believe that firewire drive is already supported. Connect the drive and run Apple System Profiler and look at the deveices and volumes page: if it's supported it should say so. However, since very few of us are fortunate enough to not need classic anymore, I'd look for a cheap OS9 disk. Boot from the OS9 cd and install the os as usual on the drive, when OSX starts up it'll find the OS9 system folder when you try to start classic mode. -- Bruce Johnson University of Arizona College of Pharmacy Information Technology Group Institutions do not have opinions, merely customs -- G-Books is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
