Hmmm, you could maybe try to do a power manager reset, but I doubt it will
work. Maybe the power manager board is toasted? I had a similar issue when I
had my Wallstreet. The battery was almost dead and after plugging the
adapter, it would appear fully charged. When I would disconnect the adapter,
I would get a message that the battery was fully discharged and that the
computer would go to sleep in a few seconds. Turned out to be the power
manager board. Apparently, when this board goes bad, you get all kind of
strange behavior when dealing with batteries.

Just a thought, I'm not sure at all that this is your problem. Might be,
might not be...
