I have had a recurring problem on my wallstreet for a few months now. Sometimes when I touch the menu bar with the cursor, the finder will quit. Sometimes it happens without doing this, instead, a program will just crash on me (sometimes while quitting the program) and when I go to the menu bar to restart, the finder will quit, then I have to do a force restart.
We've tried everything that we can think of. I have allocated large amounts of RAM to hungry programs like IE, OE, etc. At various times I have run Norton, Tech Tool (lite), Disk Warrior, have zapped PRAM and rebuilt desktop. In addition, we've tossed every useless extension we can think of, all to no avail! I'll also mention that for some time now, this PB will not go to sleep, thus implying that something is running in the background, and perhaps contributing to the problem?? I've pretty much maxed out this PB G3/300, specs are; 512 RAM, 20 G IBM Travelstar HD, Macally USB and Firewire2go PCMCIA cards, currently running system 9.1, but it started doing this while it was still system 8.6...
