Here's an example- the ipod. Every mp3 is stored on the ipod in a hidden, or
'invisible' folder named ipod_control (or controller, i cant remember) and
then in a folder named music, then in a series of folders starting with F0#.
In mac os 6 through 9.2.2, get yourself a copy of resedit2.1.3. Open it up,
then from the file menu select 'get info for...' and navigate around until
you select the invisible folder or file you dont want to have hidden anymore.
Then it's information will appear. One checkbox will read 'invisible' so
uncheck it, close the window, and save the changes. Back out on the finder,
the file or folder will now be visible. Here's a word of caution- if you make
something visible, chances are that there was a reason why it was invisible
to begin with. So make a copy of the file/folder, and re-hide the original.
That way, you have a backup to screw around with. Thats always been the rule
of thumb- when working with Resedit, always make a copy of what you're
working on first and work with the copy. This is especially true with system
resources. (ie. change the trash can's icon, the startup picture, put
sunglasses on the apple menu (thanks mac addict) or add shortcuts to any menu
item.)

write me off list with any more questions about resedit and i'll be glad to
answer them.

-Dylan

PS- for those of you who use X, whats the resedit equiv. if there is one?
