Don't believe there is an X equivalent; under the semi-Maclike surface, it's a _completely_ different operating system. No resource forks, to begin with; everything is data. Anyway, if you're a ResEdit fan, you should know ResExcellence (http://www.resexcellence.com). It does offer a section on OS X mods. As for "hidden files" in X, it has literally thousands of them (all with cryptic names that only a Unix geek can understand), which is part of the reason why you can't just do a Finder copy of the OS like the old days. It ain't the same, folks. Best to do a fresh install if you want the OS on another disk; failing that, a utility like Carbon Copy Cloner is the only way to copy OS X from one location to another. I believe you can see all the invisible files (or maybe only most of them) in X if you boot into 9.x, but best not mess with them; you can easily mess up your X setup beyond recall. Don't use ResEdit on any X file; it's not made for it. There are other tools you can use to make (classic) files visible, such as DropInfo, Snitch, or any of an array of utilities that can edit file attributes.
