Laurent, by now you've probably found the answer to your question, but 
for others and for future reference . . .

Every Apple portable labeled "PowerBook" can accept a drive at least 
12.5mm thick (such older PBs as the 5300 can accept 17mm drives.)

_No_ iBook can accept a drive thicker than 9mm.
