I'm not really sure about what to suggest. OS X is pretty particular about
the version numbers and I did run into similar issues a week ago on my
Pismo. I ended up doing a re-install of 10.2. That's what I think I would
suggest. You might try to boot with a 9 system CD and initialize your hard
drive (after making a backup, of course). I think that you need to install
OS X in the first 8 GB of the hard disk in a Wallstreet, so if your drive
has significantly more than 8 GB (like 20 GB), I would partition it with the
first 8 GB for OS X and the remainder to applications. If you're planning to
keep 9 around, then I would probably set a 1.5 GB partition aside. So, if
anything goes wrong with OS X, you might still be able to boot in 9 to fix
it. That's what I did the other day after poking around the NetInfo
database. I accidently ended up deleting all the users in OS X, including
root and I was no longer able to log in. Had to boot in 9, salvage what I
wanted to keep and then erased the disk.
