Hi Cap 

Yes I took the internals from a smartdisk firewire cd RW 16x16x32 and put
them into the cd module of the lombard

Both were Teac branded and the interface cards were the same it works like a
dream. And copies at speeds of upto 32x using mr data cd's

Example a 9.1 bootable cd from my Ti took just 3mins to copy in full and
works fine.
Even the drive door fits nice No big gaps.
