Anyone out there fooling around with GPS stuff with a Mac laptop? I'm after something in the "entry-level" range, because I just want to start playing more than anything. I've got a TiBook and an older Lombard, so something USB-based is ideal, and any software has to run under OS X.

I have no idea really what my hardware and software options are, so if anyone can give me a gentle push in the direction of some good (Mac-specific) information, that'd be fantastic.

Basically, I'm hoping to spend under $500 (Australian - about $350 US) and end up looking at my location on a pretty map on the laptop screen. Am I being hopelessly optimistic?

Thanks,
Mike.
