Have you checked to see whether there are Mac drivers available
from HP? HP's site, the last time I checked--which has been several years--is a nightmare.
I downloaded the latest version (4.5) of the driver which when first installed worked once, but then nothing. What worries me is that the installer is Classic only... :-O
