It really sounds like the switch itself is bad. Have you tried plugging 
an Intel based PC in to see if it has the same issues? One other thing 
to try would be to force the ethernet port on your Mac to 100/full and 
see if that fixes the issue. I have noted that some switches have 
issues with auto-negotiation and certain vendors' network cards.
