Stuffit Engine 8.0.1 can be downloaded from <http://www.stuffit.com/mac/deluxe/updates.html>. And, yes, Apple did ask them to make this change. Stuffit 8 is doing things the way they SHOULD have ALWAYS been done. Stuffit 7 and before were doing it wrong. But, since we are used to the way it has always worked (wrong or not), we expect it to work the same in Stuffit 8. As I said before, the update reverts to the older behavior. But, what is really needed is for providers that provide software in stuffed format to use the new .sitx format and not the older .sit format.
