I too have a new PowerBook G4 15" (purchased Sept. 26) and successfully used
the Up To Date feature at Apple's website for a $19.95 update to Panther.
BTW, would anyone have any inkling as to just how much Panther will "break"
any existing applications which run well on Jaguar such as PhotoShop 7,
Office X Suite, and Roxie's Toast Titanium 5.2? I hope this isn't going to
be more trouble than it's worth!

Well, I would suggest that the first thing to do would be get a good system backup to another hard disk with carbon copy cloner before installing. Then you can either install panther to the external disk and test it there, or install to your internal disk and have the external available as a backup to restore from. FWIW, the only one that I have heard anyone having any issues with was Toast, and that was just a comment from a friend of a friend kind of thing. It might behoove you to make a couple of phone calls. I'm sure all of the vendors have done testing against Panther builds.
